What an experience!! A group of Form 4 and Form 5 students, studying Biology, had an outing organized by EcoMarine Malta. Patrizia and Francesca, two marine biologists, spoke to the students about dolphins and other marine life found in the Mediterranean Sea. We started the outing with a boat ride towards Saint Paul Bay where we encountered two beautiful dolphins – one of them named Scalino, who they have been tracking for the last 5 years. The students also heard the dolphins communicating between them through a device used to hear sound underwater. Afterwards they had a lunch break at Blue Lagoon followed by a session on dolphins and fish farms. What better way to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
